Bonjour Mademoiselle!
I hope I got the French correct in my headline. But even if I didn't, that's OK. It's been a few years... 19 to be exact! And I'm not thanking you for all the high school French classes (although I still love the language to this day) but for the words you shared with me once when I was going through a difficult time.
Cultivate your own garden. As in grow your own talents. Grow and continue to learn as a person. Don't judge your own successes by looking at those of your friends. Succeed in areas that are important to you and you alone. Be your own best friend and cheerleader.
Those were crucial words for me to hear as a young woman too caught up in what my friends thought of me, not yet comfortable in my own skin or with my own inner voice.
Thank you for teaching me a path to self-confidence. I still hear those words in my head every time I'm falling prey to self doubt or self criticism.
