I dropped in unknown to Lauran's Thursday Writer's Workshop not knowing what to expect of the class or the teacher. Both far exceeded my expectations. With a straightforward (definitely not poetic!)nature and extensive editing experience, Lauran taught me to see blunders and possiblities in my writing. I am a better writer because of her. And through her commitment to establishing and growing Hampton Roads Writers, she pulled a group of us together and encouraged us to give back to each other and the regional writing community. So thank you Lauran for your writing wisdom and real world encouragement. Heaven knows that writers need all the breaks they can get.
