June 13, 2011

NORFOLK, VA--
Nora Firestone, founder of ThankingOfYou.com, shared one of her "Aha" moments today for Mutual of Omaha's national "Aha Moment" campaign.  Organizers contacted Firestone last month, asking her to share the inspiration behind ThankingOfYou.com, the Web-based forum for posting and receiving stories of gratitude (messages of thanks) to recognize, affirm and honor the people who've made a difference in our lives.

Firestone founded ThankingOfYou.com to resolve her longtime desire and unsuccessful search to thank two teachers from elementary school in Plainedge, Long Island, for the "little" things they'd each said or done decades ago that had a lasting, positive impact on her as she grew.  Since launching in '09, ThankingOfYou.com facilitates that recognition and thanking of people worldwide who make a difference in the lives of others.

Organizers filmed Firestone and others, individually, throughout the day, inside Mutual of Omaha's mobile film studio.

"The experience was great; a lot of fun and very positive," Firestone said.  "The 'Aha Moment' team couldn't have been more professional and friendly.  I'm not sure how they discovered ThankingOfYou.com, but I'm grateful that they understand and appreciate the movement and have acted to help promote it, and I'm honored to have been selected as a model for inspiration."

The current tour involves inspirational, life-changing "Aha" moments of people from stops in 25 cities, including this one at Waterside in Norfolk.  Folks can log on soon to www.ahamoment.com and view "Aha" moments by Firestone and others from Hampton Roads.
